I spent June in Medellín, Colombia! 🤩 The city $I spent June in Medellín, Colombia! 🤩 The city of eternal springtime! Most people from the US probably immediately worry for my safety. But if that's you, stop. 😊 You're thinking of what it was like in the 90s. Medellín and Colombia have risen from the ashes of those dark days. Medellín really is a beautiful, vibrant, and modern city that has so many good things happening. I have had so many positive experiences here, and highly recommend people visit the city and the country! Anyhow, I was last here two years ago when it was still pandemic-y, with masks and restrictions, so I enjoyed this time around seeing this beautiful city and its people now recovered and thriving. I do need to remember to NOT visit in the rainy season 😆 because it rained a LOT, but overall I got to do everything again that I loved from before (hiking, botanical garden)--and all kinds of new things -- visiting several museums, a castle, and different neighborhoods -- and going on a weekend getaway to San Andres Island (2 hour flight) with a nomad friend, Siobhan. I also got my 6 month dental cleaning and medical follow-up/blood test (all good!) done - for a fraction of the price it would cost in the US WITH insurance.
